Rearing conditions influence the immune system of brown trout
Bernese researchers have for the first time studied the immune system of brown trout at the single-cell level. The study shows the diversity of the immune system of this ecologically important fish species and demonstrates that rearing conditions leave traces in immune cells.
Forschende der Universität Bern haben erstmals das Immunsystem der Bachforelle Zelle für Zelle untersucht und eine Übersicht der Genaktivität in jeder Zelle erstellt. Die Studie zeigt, wie vielfältig das Immunsystem dieser ökologisch wichtigen und in der Schweiz geschützten Fischart aufgebaut ist, und weist nach, dass Aufzuchtbedingungen messbare Spuren in den Immunzellen hinterlassen können.
